Autumn Week 08
The Chronicle’s first live event — a panel talk on the future of American politics — exceeded everyone’s expectations. As Crawford put it, “The students did a phenomenal job of organizing the event. Attendance was high, but the level of intellectual curiosity and civic engagement they brought to the event was even higher... It’s a great joy to work in such a vibrant and dynamic intellectual environment.”
This was also the week where Ruthie brought State Representative Matt Willard to campus through Civic Engagement Club to explain the ins and outs of city and state governance, how politicians think when they’re on the campaign trail, and what he has learned legislating as a Democrat in Baton Rouge.
